Peter Tobin Funerals is a family business which started in 1948 when Noel Tobin relocated his established Maryborough funeral business to Ballarat, buying the firm of C. Wellington Funeral Director.
In 1953 the business was consolidated at the location of the Star Dairy, 12 Dawson Street South, and Noel's son, Peter, joined him in 1957. In 1971 Peter and his wife Faye took on the main roles following Noel's retirement.
The name of Peter Tobin Funerals was adopted in 1982 and Peter's dream, the Doveton Park Funeral Centre was opened in 1984. Peter and Faye were joined at Peter Tobin Funerals by their daughter, Paula, in 1987.
Since the retirement of Peter and Faye in 1998, Paula and staff proudly continue the Peter Tobin vision and tradition of providing to Ballarat and the surrounding district, care, understanding and professionalism in all aspects of funeral services.
Peter Tobin Funerals enviable reputation has been earned due to its uncompromising attention to the highest standards of funeral services, not only immediately following a loss but including pre-arranging or pre-paying a funeral.
Responding to clients specific needs with the utmost respect at all times is our tradition which continues today.
